Threadlift is a non-surgical facial rejuvenation technique developed to fill in the gap between facelift surgery and non-invasive facial rejuvenation (such as fillers and Botox®). It is a minimally invasive procedure wherein medical-grade bio-absorbable threads are inserted into the face and tightened to produce a visible “lift” in the skin. This has the effect of pulling the skin back, repositioning sagging tissue, and therefore lifting and tightening the face. The forehead, jowls, under-eye area, eyebrows and nose are all parts of the face that can be considered for a thread lift.
In addition to being ideal for lifting skin, threads combat aging in another way – by triggering the body’s healing response. The inserted suture material stimulates collagen production in the skin. This process provides ongoing and progressive rejuvenation for the facial tissues as collagen can fill gaps in sagging skin and restore a more youthful elasticity to the face. After a thread lift, there will be a gradual improvement in the skin’s tone and firmness.
Skinscape uses two types of threads; Silhouette Soft and polydioxanone (PDO) threads. A thread lift will generally last from one to three years, depending on the type of threads and methods used.
The ideal thread lift candidate is someone in his or her late thirties to early fifties, who desires a slimmer profile along with some upward and backward traction of the face. One who is just starting to notice the signs of aging, will likely benefit greatly from the subtle impact of a thread lift.
